Han Ji-hye in W magazine
That’s quite a lot of hair Han Ji-hye
) is sporting in her photo spread for W Korea magazine, but she’s one of those actresses who can pull off a lotta look.
Her look, achieved with the addition of lots of hairpieces, has the
effect of combining a modern minimalism with a classical Korean touch —
in fact, she reminds me of the gisaeng she played in the period action
film Like the Moon Escaping From Clouds.
The overall result makes my neck ache in sympathy pangs, though; the
pieces added a weight of 10 kg to her head. It’s a wonder it didn’t snap
her tiny neck, though it does remind me of being walked home from
school by grandma, who insisted on carrying my brother’s trumpet by
balancing it on her head, the whole way home. That’s what we call a
skill. Also a traffic-stopper.
Han recently wrapped her MBC sageuk The Duo
, where apparently she inspired many viewers to aggravation as Dong-nyeo, the love interest caught between Chun Jung-myun
and Lee Sang-yoon
. She’s currently considering her next project.
